What I’m Doing Now

Projects

Family

My son is starting to be mobile! It's amazing. Seeing him grow and progress the last 7 months has been the greatest joy I've ever felt. At times, I just want 5 minutes to myself, but like 10 minutes into his naps, I find myself missing my little buddy.

Kayak and I are getting back into the swing of things now that our son is somewhat on a schedule. We, like all parents, would prefer that our kid sleeps later than 4 am, but I'm happy he isn't waking up a bunch anymore.

Making

I've recently finish 6 boxes. 3 for my family birthday advents, and 3 prototypes for selling pen boxes/trays. I used Hanji paper for the first time, and made enough miters to get used to making them super tight.

My basement workshop is overflowing with junk. I've got to reorganize. A couple years ago I made a stand/desk for my 3D printers to stand on, but I'm going to disassemble and put them on a very low table. Since everything is based around my Atedais it would be much more helpful to not have to stand up, and just spin around.

Documenting my projects has become somewhat of a habit on Instagram, my complaints with that, and the social internet aside, it's been fun. Through that and the Finewoodworking Discord channel, I've learned and met many people.

Health

I've been in and out of the gym. Not really able to stay a consistent schedule, but I'm close to my goal weight! I've felt myself get weaker the last few months, and the mental benefits of working out are absolutely undeniable for me. I look to get back into that. It's also allergy season, and my least favorite time of year. It hits me physically and the disappearance of summer seems to always sink me into a low mental point.

Employment

I’m currently employed at a local electrical distributor as the Divisional Marketing Manager, taking over the role from someone who had worked at the company longer than I’ve been alive. There are many pain points but also plenty of opportunities for growth and challenge.
